Monarch is one of a few select schools around the nation to be selected to offer College Board’s Career Kickstart course AP Cybersecurity as a pilot before it is launched nationally next year. The culminating product for the unit on Securing Physical Spaces was to conduct a physical vulnerability assessment of Monarch High School. In small teams, students collected data related to the physical security of the building, evaluated and quantified the risk associated with vulnerabilities they identified, and proposed high-impact solutions to mitigate the risk introduced. They prepared both a written report and presentation that they presented to Principal Doan with their findings who will then act on their findings.
